February USP 797 Tip of the Day: Discard all clean room garb immediately upon exiting compounding area.

Discard all clean room garb (masks, shoe and face cover) immediately upon exiting compounding area.

If garb is taken outside of the cleanroom or anteroom, they are effectively contaminated. Although other hospital personnel can be observed walking around in their garb (hair net, masks around the neck, shoe covers, gowns), this practice is not acceptable.

Daily tips in February are from a document Eric S. Kastango produced in 2006.
