February USP 797 Tip of the Day: Disinfect Direct Compounding Area before starting any compounding

Disinfect ISO Class 5 EC with a suitable disinfecting agent (e.g. 70% IPA, fresh 3% hydrogen peroxide or 1- 2% of bleach) before starting
any compounding.

Critical ISO Class 5 compounding surfaces need to be disinfected at
the start of every compounding day/shift, between each CSP batch
and at the end of the day/shift to minimize any microbial contamination
that may be introduced by components or personnel.

Daily tips in February are from a document Eric S. Kastango produced in 2006.
